CNET Review for Asus p320

This review brings across the size of the Asus p320 which is actually close to the HTC touch, which is quite small. It comes with GPS though it is not a strong point of the phone. My opinion, at the current price its quite a steal. For the size and the build quality, it is a very well featured phone for regular use.

Nokia 6600 fold: Ladies Special Review

4:27 PM
Nokia 6600 Fold carries the name of a very famous predecessor, one which was hugely successful for Nokia and was selling well for almost 3 years after its launch. 6600 Fold is a different species altogether, more endearing to fairer sex i.e. less complex, more good looking, and quite expensive. It reminds me of the Sony Ericsson Z610i, which was very popular with the women in Pink and my girlfriend just refuses to let go of it, even if its dying on her from time to time. This time I will probably be able to wean her off it with the 6600. Below is the review of the Nokia 6600 fold by GSM Arena, which is entirely unnecessary for the target audience (Women), but probably usefull for the opposite sex trying to find a perfect gift for their ladies.

LG has launched a twin brother to the Sony Ericsson W350i, the KM380 which is also a music phone. LG says its sound has been tuned by Mark Levinson, who i frankly don't know and haven't tried to find out.
It has EDGE and 3.5mm headphone jack, a 2" screen and capacity to expand the memory upto 32GB with Micro SDHC card. No Reviews out yet on the sound. will keep looking though.
Available for Rs.7,499 at cafegadgets.com, which is the MRP. You might as well wait for the price to fall, to between 5-6k, in a few months.

LG has launched a Symbian 60 phone which is very much like the Nokia communicators of the past and that too at a much more affordable Rs.15K, compared to the E90, which costs around Rs.35k.
GsmArena has done a Review on the handset and says that it is a decent attempt but leaving out of certain features, makes it a little of 'all show, less go'. With features like Wi-fi and OpenOffice missing (it has to be bought seperately), its difficult to recommend this phone to business users. It will be a good show off piece for the lower exces just out of college or a texting phone for college students.

Skype has released the Skype v2.2 for both versions of Windows Mobile. One can use skype to make free calls to other skype users and use it like VOIP phone over Wi-fi, if your windows Phone supports wi-fi. HTC and Asus Handsets are the main beneficiaries of this.
Nokia users can use Fring to get the functionality of Skype on their phones. Fring lets you access your skpe account and use it to make calls and Chat with outher users.

The Nokia E66 is the E-series handset which has all the features of the E71 without the qwerty keypad and in the slider form factor. The earlier model the E65 did not have a clear USP going for it, between the E50 and the E61i. E66 also has GPS and ofcourse document editor, like all E series handsets. E-series handsets are turning out to be the smartest looking business phones today with the metal and chrome finish and the white colour combo.

The Nokia N95 Review and Prices
Posted by

3:24 PM
Nokia N95 was released around 2 years ago and almost everyone knows it know. You might ask why is the "re-view" relevant today. Well, it is relevant today because its successor has been released and except the looks there aren't many significant differences between the 2. Only noticeable difference in the specs is the support for Mobile TV in the N96, which is quite irrelevant to Indians as no mobile service provider supports it, since it needs 3G. and the other is 8GB extra memory in N96.
Well for the record: There are 2 versions of the N95, one with 8GB inbuilt memory and one without
For the 8GB model (which comes in only BLACK) you'll have to pay Rs.25,500 at cafegadgets and
for the non-8GB model u only have to pay Rs.19,600 again at cafegadgets

Samsung TouchWiz F480

Smallest of the touchscreen-only series of Samsung Mobile, F480 TouchWiz provides a smooth uncluttered interface, which is convenient and very usable. Reviewers have reported quiry behaviour in the software, which is acceptable, since this is a new platform and these were minor and fixable in the firmware update. However the Features are lacking. There is no Wi-fi and no GPS, but 3G and Edge are present. Camera is 5 Mpx with decent quality.
Overall good looking phone with metal finish but currently overpriced compared to competition.

The N96 is a the flagship multimedia device of Nokia. Comes will all the bells and whistles that you can expect from a phone like this. That means 16GB memory,Wifi, 2.8" LCD, 3G, GPRS/EDGE, an excellent browser, GPS, Geotagging Photos, 5mpx camera and Mobile TV. There is no Touch screen though and it is still MUCH bulkier than the iPhone.
Many sites have reviewed the N96.

Sad Demise of MobileNxt.com

9:09 AM
Network 18 has decided to pull the plug on mobilenxt.com, and merge it with its portal In.com. The range is visibly reduced and very few of the products have been carried over. The problem maybe with the joint venture they had with MobileNxt chain of stores. Prices are still good, but it is unlikely that the performance will remain the same as the focus will not be just cell phones but all kinds of merchandise. Their other venture Storeguru.in has taken over the shopping division completely.

Mobiles with Wi-fi: HTC Touch

Yes the first generation touchscreen star, HTC Touch with its finger friendly touch interface for most commonly used function. Its got Windows mobile 6.1 Pro, Wi-fi, GPRS-EDGE, but only 3 physical keys. It has one of the best handwriting recognition software which recognises whole words rather than one letter at a type. This makes writing with the stylus much faster than for example a SE P1i. You wont be missing a keypad very often.
Its shape is very pocket friendly, with small form and curved lines, making it easy to put and take out of the pocket. Its home page carries a lot of information that can be customised according to the user's need.
Available at cafegadgets for Rs.13699.

HTC S710 is very dear to me, its got Windows, Wi-fi, GPRS-EDGE and its star attraction, a sideways Sliding QWERTY keypad, which comes apart from the regular keypad on the facia. It is not a touchscreen phone, surfing the net is pretty acceptable with its 2.4'' screen. The phone feels chunky to hold, giving it a great fit in you hand, with all the edges curved. Its not bigger than a normal candybar phone, so great is the design. Latest prices were mentioned on an earlier post.

Shortage of graphics card catalogues online
Posted by

9:49 AM
I have been trying to search for an online site which provides graphics cards for sale.
Currently there is only one online store in that provides graphic cards i.e. Cafegadgets.com, but even they sell only one brand, Palit. The whole range of Palit is available though, and prices are pretty decent. You can get a base last generation video card (8400GS and HD2400 Pro) for under 2k, which is very good for casual gamers. And a low-end 9400GT Super for Rs. 3,350
Maybe there is an issue with the stock keeping, because new cards are released so fast that 3 months is a long time in graphics industry and you may end up with expensive cards in stock which are priced 30% lower 3 months later.
But computer components like motherboards processors and ram can be more easily sold online. Why dont we have a store doing that? Is it space enough for a new player?
Edit: i have finally found a good hierarchy chart for graphics cards on tomshardware.com, this should help out the uninitiated (like me).

EA's Most Popular Racing series: Need For Speed, has thrilled gamers for 13 years now. The last 4 installments are still widely available.
NFS Most Wanted with its police chases is currently priced at Rs.750 at ebay.in
NFS Carbon is currently priced at Rs.750 at ebay.in
NFS Prostreet is available for Rs.999 at ebay.in
NFS Most Wanted is easily playable with on-board Intel graphics, while for Prostreet you definitely need a decent graphics card, i'm not sure about Carbon though, so I would sugest investing a decent graphics card for that too.
BTW the Latest installment of NFS, 'Undercover' will be released soon so the NFS Prostreet may be available for Rs.750 soon, and Most Wanted may end up at Rs.499

The Internet Tablet You Never Knew Existed

The iPod Touch is what I'm talking about. Its a great internet device to have if you spend a lot of time in Wi-Fi enabled zones. It can pretty much do almost everything that a Netbook can do, plus have 10 hours of battery life and can be carried in a pocket. Now how many internet devices do u know that can do that. On top of that it is much cheaper than a comparable netbook; the second generation Ipod Touch is available on Cafegadgets.com for Rs13,699. Thats actually cheaper than the 1st gen iPod Touch and one third the price of an iPhone, not to mention it looks just as good
Well lets see whats on offer: theres wifi internet, email, contacts, calender, Games specifically developed for iPod touch and the iPhone, the Music and Video player, You Tube, photos, maps, 8GB or more of memory, outlook syncing via itunes and a more comfortable surfing interface than a net book
The only things you would miss is the Copy-paste functionality and a good word processor and spreadsheet software, but if u dont use those things much, this is one of the best devices for the teen to twenty crowd.
